About the position

Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta), formerly known as Facebook Inc., is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a team of data engineers. This role involves providing leadership, mentoring, and coaching to help team members achieve their career goals. The Data Engineering Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand privacy consent and deletion requirements, translating these into effective data engineering solutions. The position requires defining and prioritizing project roadmaps, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality data products, and designing scalable data architectures that facilitate efficient processing, storage, and analysis of privacy consent and deletion data. In addition to project management, the Data Engineering Manager will develop data quality metrics and monitoring processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of privacy consent and deletion data. Collaboration with data scientists is essential to develop analytical models and dashboards that provide insights into privacy consent and deletion trends, helping to identify areas for improvement. The role also includes implementing data deletion frameworks to ensure the proper removal of non-compliant data usage and staying updated with emerging trends and best practices in data engineering, privacy, and compliance. The Data Engineering Manager will contribute to the development of data engineering standards, policies, and procedures, and participate in the hiring and onboarding of new data engineers. This position is critical in ensuring that Meta continues to lead in the field of data engineering while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of data engineers and provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to help them achieve their career goals.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the privacy consent and deletion requirements and translate them into data engineering solutions.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Requires 60 months of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Experience performing analytics and data management using SAS.
  • Experience designing and developing SAS programs.
  • Experience with ETL processes.
  • Experience building data validation frameworks.
  • Experience building data analytics pipelines.
  • Experience with Oracle and Hadoop.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux.
  • Experience with R and Python.
  • Experience with Shell Scripts.
  • Experience with SQL.
