About the position

The Data Engineering Manager at TEKsystems is responsible for leading a team of data engineers and architects in the design, development, and implementation of scalable data solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals. This role involves driving the architecture of data systems, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security, and overseeing data pipelines and infrastructure management. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with business objectives and guide the organization towards a modern data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes a strategic vision for data architecture and engineering that aligns with the organization's goals.
• Leads and mentors a team of data engineers, architects, and other technical professionals.
• Collaborates with executives and stakeholders to define data strategy, governance, and management practices.
• Designs and oversees the implementation of robust data architectures that support the collection, storage, processing, and analysis of large datasets.
• Ensures the scalability, reliability, and performance of data systems across the organization.
• Oversees the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
• Ensures data quality, consistency, and accuracy across all data sources and systems.
• Works closely with analytics, technology, product, and business teams to understand data needs and translate them into actionable engineering tasks.
• Partners with information security teams to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
• Continuously evaluates and improves data infrastructure, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 15 years of data engineering and architecture experience with at least 6 years in leadership.
• Preferred knowledge and experience with the financial services ecosystem.
• Ability to develop strategies to migrate from legacy to innovative environments.
• Strong operational management skills and project management skills.
