About the position

As a Data Engineering Manager at Meta Platforms, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of data engineers. Your primary responsibility will be to provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to your team members, helping them achieve their career goals while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the privacy consent and deletion requirements, translating these needs into effective data engineering solutions. This position requires a strategic mindset to define and prioritize data engineering project roadmaps, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality data products that meet the company's standards and compliance requirements. In this role, you will design and implement scalable data architectures that facilitate efficient processing, storage, and analysis of privacy consent and deletion data. You will also be responsible for developing data quality metrics and monitoring processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data. Collaboration with data scientists will be essential as you work together to develop analytical models and dashboards that provide insights into privacy consent and deletion trends, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with data usage policies. Additionally, you will implement data deletion frameworks to ensure the proper removal of non-compliant data usage, staying up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in data engineering, privacy, and compliance. Your contributions will extend to the development of data engineering standards, policies, and procedures, and you will also participate in the hiring and onboarding of new data engineers, ensuring that the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of data engineers and provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 60 months of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Experience performing analytics and data management using SAS.
  • Experience designing and developing SAS programs.
  • Experience with ETL processes.
  • Experience building data validation frameworks.
  • Experience building data analytics pipelines.
  • Experience with Oracle and Hadoop.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux.
  • Experience with R and Python.
  • Experience with Shell Scripts.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience preparing test plans and test scripts.
