About the position

The Data Engineering Manager at TEKsystems is responsible for leading a team of data engineers and architects to design, develop, and implement scalable data solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals. This role involves driving the architecture of data systems, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security, and managing data pipelines and infrastructure. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with business objectives and guide the organization towards a modern data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes a strategic vision for data architecture and engineering that aligns with the organization's goals.
• Leads and mentors a team of data engineers, architects, and other technical professionals, including staffing, scheduling, compensation, performance management, training and development, and succession planning.
• Collaborates with executives and stakeholders to define data strategy, governance, and management practices.
• Designs and oversees the implementation of robust data architectures that support the collection, storage, processing, and analysis of large datasets.
• Ensures the scalability, reliability, and performance of data systems across the organization.
• Oversees the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
• Ensures data quality, consistency, and accuracy across all data sources and systems.
• Implements best practices for data management, including data modeling, storage, and retrieval strategies.
• Works closely with analytics, technology, product, and business teams to understand data needs and translate them into actionable engineering tasks.
• Partners with information security teams to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and to implement data security best practices.
• Continuously evaluates and improves data infrastructure, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Proven experience in data engineering and architecture roles.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Expertise in designing and implementing data architectures and data pipelines.
• Knowledge of data governance and management practices.
• Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing solutions.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and security best practices.
