About the position

The Data Engineering Product Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the product strategy for Data Engineering products within a full-stack environment focused on medical and pharmaceutical advancements. This role involves close collaboration with engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful launch and adoption of products that enhance data experiences for scientists and decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the product strategy for Data Engineering products.
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver industry-leading Data Engineering products.
• Drive the product roadmap and guide product development initiatives.
• Ensure successful launch and adoption of Data Engineering products.
• Facilitate joint planning and execution of the product roadmap.
• Devise, track, and publicize metrics measuring the impact and performance of Onyx platform products.

Requirements

• Master's degree with 2 years of experience or Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience in Data Engineering or cloud infrastructure product development.
• At least 2 years of experience in product management focused on data engineering products.
• Proficiency with modern software development tools (e.g., git/GitHub, Docker, DevOps tools).
• Strong understanding of data engineering tools (Spark, Airflow, PySpark, Kafka, Hive, SQL/NoSQL).
• Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).
• Familiarity with cloud computing environments (GCP preferred, Azure, AWS).
• Experience in agile software development environments using tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with metadata management and data governance concepts.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with life science/biological data.
