The Strategic Financial Analytics and Data (SFAD) organization governs the strategy and implementation of the enterprise data warehouse, Data Lake, and emerging data platforms such as Cloud Data Warehouse. Our mission is to drive activation of data solutions, rep engagement technology (Sales, Marketing and Service) and client intelligence to achieve targeted business outcomes, address data risk and safeguard competitive edge. We help Marketing, Finance, Risk and executive leadership make fact-based decisions by integrating and analyzing data. As part of the Business Data Delivery team, you will partner with our Business stakeholders and Data Engineering team to design and develop data solutions for data science, analytics and reporting. We are a team of passionate data engineers and SMEs who bring a lot of energy, focus and fresh ideas that support our mission to provide value by seeing the world "Through Clients' Eyes". ETL Developers work with large teams, including onshore and offshore developers, using best-in-class technologies including BigQuery and Informatica (IICS). You will manage a team that will design, develop and implement enterprise data integration solutions with opportunities to grow in responsibility, work on exciting and challenging projects, train on new technologies and lead other Developers to set the future of the Data Warehouse. We are looking for a Senior Manager with deep experience in data technology and warehouse development, a passion for data solutions, and a robust curiosity for emerging cloud development patterns. You have strong team leadership skills; influence without authority; make and propose needed changes to bring more impact; and possess the ability to hire, guide, coach, and grow exceptional technology teams. You are a visible leader who thrives on developing and motivating future technology leaders. You foster an accountable culture and thirst for technology innovation. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Business stakeholders and Data Engineering team to design and develop data solutions for data science, analytics, and reporting.
  • Manage a team that designs, develops, and implements enterprise data integration solutions.
  • Lead the ETL delivery team with technical expertise and guidance.
  • Develop data ingestion workflows across a wide variety of data sources and ingestion patterns such as batch, near real-time, and real-time.
  • Apply data integration best practices for data quality and automation.
  • Mentor and guide team members for growth and development.
  • Collaborate with customers, peers, account leaders, and external and internal partners.
  • Drive projects to successful completion, anticipating project risks/issues and proposing creative solutions.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a People Manager (>8 years).
  • Demonstrated experience as a data analyst/engineer (>5 years).
  • Must have technology domain experience gained at Schwab as a contractor for at least 2 years.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, Big Query, Informatica IICS for at least 2 years.
  • Project management experience with the ability to drive projects to successful completion; ability to anticipate project risks/issues and propose creative solutions; solid experience and understanding of Agile Methods.
  • Prior experience interfacing with various partners, including vendors, offshore development teams, and internal groups.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate data curiosity and business understanding.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning about emerging data platforms and Cloud Data technologies.
