About the position

ManTech is seeking a motivated Data Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in Fort Meade, Maryland. This role involves designing, developing, supporting, and maintaining the organization's database systems, ensuring optimal performance and security of data. The position requires a strong background in database management and cybersecurity, along with the ability to provide technical support and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, supports, and maintains the organization's database systems, including hardware, software, and network components
• Implements and manages vendor or open-source database software
• Codes and monitors database objects for optimal performance
• Provides day-to-day database administration support as needed
• Extracts and loads data
• Sets up cybersecurity measures
• Updates hardware and software as needed
• Authenticates data
• Monitors the performance of hardware and software
• Configures servers and databases
• Preserves data integrity
• Ethically handles private data, such as financial and healthcare data
• Troubleshoots and provides technical support to database system users

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT related field
• Seven or more (7+) years of position-related experience
• Hold one of the following certifications within 6 months of commencing work on the Task Order: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP
• If a candidate does not have a degree at all, four (4) additional years of experience are required
• If a candidate holds an Associates degree rather than a Bachelor's degree, two (2) additional years of experience are required

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Vendor tool certifications appropriate to TDL requirements; e.g., Oracle and Mongo
