About the position

Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an immediate career opportunity for a Data Architect to join our team! This individual will play a crucial role in shaping the architecture that supports our data-related initiatives. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing Ryan's data architecture. You will define how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by the organization, as well as any applications using or processing that data in some way. Some things you can expect to do include leading efforts to accelerate data maturity to address business challenges by mapping out the current data architecture landscape and designing future-state architecture to support evolving business needs and growth. You will develop standards, tools, and governance for capturing, modeling, storing, and delivering data. Implementing robust data governance practices will be essential, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. You will also be responsible for developing a high-level enterprise data model and conceptual views of related data sub-architectures, such as database, data integration, data warehouse/business intelligence, reporting, metadata, and content management architectures. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key to integrating data management services into technology development processes. You will partner with the data organization to understand challenges and implement best practices and standards. Effectively communicating complex concepts to stakeholders with varying levels of data literacy will foster understanding and buy-in. Additionally, you will conduct research to identify data sources, uncover anomalies, and address data quality concerns. Staying abreast of industry trends and technologies will allow you to recommend and implement data solutions to drive business results. You will develop and maintain enterprise architecture models to align technology strategies with business objectives, ensuring the interoperability of systems across the enterprise by setting standards and creating roadmaps for technology infrastructure. Finally, you will provide expertise in system integration, technology selection, and application architecture to support project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to accelerate data maturity to address business challenges by mapping out the current data architecture landscape and designing future-state architecture to support evolving business needs and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, information management or a business-related field.
  • At least 10+ years of data architect experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in tools such as Python, ER Studio, Microsoft Suite, Azure DevOps, and SQL query tools.
  • Experience with modern data platforms, including on-premise and cloud platforms.
  • Ability to connect new technology with the needs of the organization.

  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively.
