Food Matters Again is a specialized importer and distributor that focuses on servicing independent retailers in the New York metro area and Southern New England, extending up to Boston. The company, founded in late 2009, has seen strong and steady growth, primarily dealing with fine cheeses while also expanding into a diverse range of charcuterie, fresh olives, cheese accompaniments, and rare specialty food items. As a small company, we are looking for a new operations employee to join our team in a key support position. This full-time role is crucial as it involves supporting both the billing and purchasing aspects of our business. The responsibilities of this position include regular data entry in Quickbooks, managing purchase orders for our buyers, and assisting with inventory management. Additionally, the role may require occasional support to the operations crew in packing orders for outbound shipments. Given the nature of our industry and the size of our team, it is common for employees to wear multiple hats, especially during our busiest weeks. Therefore, the ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills and a genuine comfort with numbers, as accuracy is paramount in our operations. Our suppliers expect us to maintain high standards in paperwork and order accuracy, and our team's performance is judged based on our ability to consistently get the details right.
