About the position

The Data Entry Clerk position at the School District of Pickens County involves performing skilled data entry to maintain school records and assist with general clerical duties. The role is essential for ensuring efficient office operations and requires interaction with various stakeholders within the school district.

Responsibilities

  • Perform computer data entry to process, record, update, and retrieve department information related to attendance, leave, grades, and progress reports.
  • Prepare spreadsheets and reports as directed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Key data into other input devices as required.
  • Process enrollment and withdrawal of students.
  • Maintain appropriate student files.
  • Conduct necessary audits.
  • Perform general clerical work, including answering the telephone, typing reports, copying and filing documents, matching/sorting invoices, processing daily mail, and creating reports or packets.
  • Prepare and submit daily logs, routine forms, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, such as a computer, printer, Internet, email, scanner, typewriter, copier, and adding machine.
  • Interact and communicate with departmental supervisors, co-workers, District department heads, employees, and the general public.

Requirements

  • 2-year associate degree or higher, or 60 semester hours of college course work, or Silver Level WorkKeys, or WIN Readiness Assessment at Silver level.
  • Data entry experience preferred.
  • Must be able to type 40 words per minute with accuracy.
