The Data Entry Clerk (Inventory) position at Canteen involves providing advanced clerical, customer service, and administrative support within a dynamic work environment. This full-time role is based at the Coffee Distributing Corporation in New Hyde Park, NY, and operates on a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of inventory management and administrative functions. Key responsibilities include performing account maintenance duties, preparing and receiving vouchers and requisitions, and posting transactions into the company's system, such as returns and inventory adjustments. The Data Entry Clerk will also reconcile records, investigate transaction errors, and resolve any issues that arise. Filing business documents and responding to vendor and customer inquiries are essential parts of the role, as is monitoring and ordering office supplies. In addition to these tasks, the Data Entry Clerk will arrange meetings, take meeting minutes, and provide assistance with various administrative tasks, including annual inventory counts and material requests. The role requires collaboration with other Data Entry Clerks and the ability to fill in for colleagues as needed. Overall, this position is crucial for maintaining accurate records and supporting the operational needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Performs account maintenance duties; prepares and receives vouchers and requisitions as directed.
  • Posts transactions into a company's system, e.g., returns, inventory adjustments, etc.
  • Reconciles records, investigates transaction errors and resolves problems.
  • Files business documents and responds to vendor/customer inquiries.
  • Monitors and orders office supplies and other small purchases.
  • Arranges meetings; takes meeting minutes.
  • Fills in for other Data Entry Clerks as needed and works cooperatively with others.
  • Provides assistance with various administrative tasks, e.g., annual inventory counts, preparation of material requests for approval, receiving/logging materials for delivery, sizes/orders uniforms for personnel, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in general office, bookkeeping or personnel operations.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, e.g., Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
