Additionally, the clerk will assist in documenting data management procedures and protocols and support special projects directed by the Data Analyst. General office duties such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents are also part of the job, along with maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for candidates who have an associate's degree or coursework in healthcare administration or data management. Experience in a clerical or data entry role, particularly in a healthcare setting, is essential, along with proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL and Excel. The work environment is primarily office-based, with physical demands including the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. The Data Entry Clerk will actively support the mission and values of the San Diego American Indian Health Center, providing excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with safety and privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and validate data from various sources

  • Assist with special projects as directed by the Data Analyst
  • Perform general clerical duties, such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Proven experience in data management
  • 2+ years of experience in a clerical or data entry role, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Basic knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems and data entry processes
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, and statistical software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of data privacy and security best practices
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders

Nice-to-haves
