About the position

The Data Entry Clerk position involves working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, focusing on data entry and management tasks. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to make informed decisions regarding vendor databases. Bilingual Spanish is considered a plus, enhancing communication within the team and with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Entering data into the system.
  • Updating lists, records, statistics, or other data into a computer.
  • Processing incoming mail, including opening and date stamping.
  • Tracking claims receipts.
  • Photocopying, mailing, preparing documents and correspondence.
  • Using Managed Health Care systems and/or the Medi-Cal Automated Eligibility Verification System (AEVS).
  • Making intelligent decisions about vendor databases and searching various websites for information.

Requirements

  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • College degree is a plus.
  • Strong data entry experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to achieve 7,000 - 10,000 keystrokes (both 10 key and alpha numeric).
  • Typing speed of 35 words per minute.
  • Fast learner with good customer service skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills with strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Knowledge of Access and Visio is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, PPO, HMO is a plus.
