About the position

The Data Entry Clerk position is a critical role within a fast-paced healthcare environment, where accuracy and efficiency are paramount. The successful candidate will be responsible for entering and updating various types of data into the company's systems, ensuring that all records, statistics, and lists are current and accurate. This role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to process incoming mail, which includes opening, date stamping, and tracking claims receipts. Additionally, the Data Entry Clerk will be tasked with photocopying, mailing, and preparing documents and correspondence as needed. A strong understanding of Managed Health Care systems and the Medi-Cal Automated Eligibility Verification System (AEVS) is highly desirable, as it will aid in the efficient handling of data. The position demands not only excellent data entry skills but also the ability to make informed decisions regarding a vendor database. This includes the capability to search various websites for information, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of the data being managed. Responsibilities

  • Entering data into the system.
  • Updating lists, records, statistics, or other data into a computer.
  • Processing incoming mail: opening and date stamping the mail.
  • Tracking claims receipts.
  • Photocopying, mailing, preparing documents and correspondence.
  • Using Managed Health Care system and/or the Medi-Cal Automated Eligibility Verification System (AEVS).
  • Making intelligent decisions about a vendor database.
  • Searching various websites for information.

Requirements

  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus!
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • College degree is a plus!
  • Strong data entry experience in a healthcare environment.
  • 7,000 - 10,000 keystrokes (both 10 key and alpha numeric).
  • Typing speed of 35 w.p.m.
  • Fast learner with good customer service skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Knowledge of Access and Visio is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, PPO, HMO is a plus.
