About the position

The Data Entry Clerk at Children's Home Society of Florida (CHS) plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission to empower children and families. The Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for inputting various types of data, including service, donor, and administrative information, into the computer system. This position is vital for maintaining the high performance of CHS, as it ensures that accurate data is available for decision-making and reporting purposes. In this role, the Data Entry Clerk will not only input data but also generate and print reports, create necessary documents, and maintain filing systems. The position requires a proactive approach to clerical tasks, including answering phones and assisting with other administrative duties. The Data Entry Clerk will contribute to a positive work environment by actively participating in departmental meetings and training sessions, staying informed about job-related trends, and complying with CHS's policies and procedures. Moreover, the Data Entry Clerk will assist in training new team members and provide backup support when needed. Responsibilities

  • Input operational, service and/or donor related data into the computer system.
  • Generate and print reports.
  • Generate necessary word processing documents.
  • Maintain filing, photocopying, assist in answering telephone and performing other similar clerical tasks.
  • Contribute to a positive, engaging work environment.
  • Develop a strong knowledge base and stay current on job-related issues and trends.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, training and education, as well as the quality process.
  • Comply with CHS's code of conduct, policies, procedures and other obligations.
  • Assist with training other team members and providing back up when necessary.
  • Pick up projects on the fly; perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
  • Demonstrate the CHS Common Bond values in the performance of all job duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Florida Driver's License within 30 days from hire with daily access to a reliable and insured vehicle, required.
  • Six months of data entry and general office work experience.
  • Knowledge of PC word processing.
  • Knowledge of various types of office equipment (i.e. copier, fax).
  • Telephone etiquette.
  • Skills in planning, project management, organization and time management.
  • Oral and written communication skills, including presentation and platform.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills, consulting and facilitation, coaching and mentoring.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Experience in a social service environment.
