About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Data Entry Clerk to support our operation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately entering and maintaining data related to our products and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Input and update various types of data (e.g., customer information, order details, inventory data) into ERP, spreadsheets, or specialized software
  • Ensure data is entered accurately and efficiently
  • Regularly update records to ensure information is current and accurate
  • Add new data, correct errors, and ensure that files are properly organized and easy to retrieve
  • Cross-check data for accuracy by comparing source documents to the entered information
  • Identify and correct data entry errors or inconsistencies
  • Process sensitive or confidential information with discretion and in compliance with data privacy policies
  • Organize and prepare data for entry by compiling, sorting, and prioritizing information based on established guidelines
  • Ensure that all relevant data is included and properly categorized
  • Perform regular backups of entered data to prevent data loss
  • Collaborate with other departments or team members to clarify data-related questions or resolve discrepancies
  • Report data issues or technical problems to supervisors or IT departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in data entry, administrative support, or a similar role is a plus but not always required
  • Strong typing skills with a high level of accuracy (typically 40-60 words per minute or higher)
  • Familiarity with keyboard shortcuts and efficient typing techniques
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail to prevent errors in data input
  • Ability to spot inconsistencies or mistakes in source documents and correct them
  • Proficiency in using computers, particularly Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and Google Sheets
  • Experience with data entry software, databases, or ERP systems is a plus
  • Ability to organize large volumes of data and manage multiple data entry tasks simultaneously
  • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, or other departments to clarify data-related issues.
