About the position

The Data Entry Clerk plays a crucial role in supporting purchasing activities by ensuring accurate procurement of goods such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies. This position involves verifying orders, managing inventory counts, and liaising with vendors to facilitate smooth purchasing operations.

Responsibilities

• Verifies packing slip and order amount matches before receiving material into the system
• Counts inventory items to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity
• Assists with periodic plant inventory
• Purchases non-system production related material
• Reviews requisitions
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
• Contacts vendors for pick-ups or returns
• Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries
