About the position

The Data Entry Clerk position is part of the Office of Outdoor Recreation under the Bureau of Conservation, reporting to the GIS Manager. The role focuses on managing the Bureau's geographic information system (GIS), producing maps, and contributing to various GIS projects. The position requires collaboration with operational staff and other divisions, primarily working in a remote environment with occasional fieldwork and meetings in Nashville, TN.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Bureau of Parks & Conservation's geographic information system (GIS).
• Produce maps and other deliverables as requested.
• Contribute to GIS projects, including building custom GIS tools and solutions.
• Apply spatial analysis techniques as needed.
• Collaborate with Tennessee State Parks operational staff and other divisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Earth Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 2 years of relevant work experience in GIS.
• Proficiency with Esri software, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Proficiency in creating, editing, managing, and publishing GIS feature data.
• Proficiency in cartographic design.
• Working knowledge of geospatial analysis methods and ESRI GIS applications development.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Avenza MAPublisher.
• Working knowledge of Arcade and/or JavaScript programming for GIS applications and APIs integration.
