About the position

SDO CPA is a fast-growing tax and accounting firm located in Duncanville, Texas, seeking a Data Entry Clerk who is passionate about accuracy and speed when handling financial data. This position is part-time, requiring 25 hours a week from Monday to Friday, specifically from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, with the potential for additional hours during the busy tax seasons of February to April and August to October. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with financial data while also enjoying interactions with friendly customers. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include daily interactions with customers in person, over the phone, and through chat or text messages. You will collect payments and documents, follow up with clients regularly, and assist them in connecting their online accounts with bookkeeping software to download transactions. Your duties will also involve transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using various tools such as keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners. You will be expected to type in data provided directly by customers into spreadsheets, tax software, bookkeeping software, word documents, and web portals, ensuring that you create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes. Additionally, you will verify data by comparing it to source documents, update existing data, retrieve data from databases or electronic files as requested, and perform regular backups to ensure data preservation. You will also sort and organize paperwork after entering data to prevent loss and assist in financial activities such as managing client data in our online portal, data entry for tax returns, running payroll, and generating invoices. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Strong work ethic and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a typing speed of at least 50 words per minute at 98% accuracy.
  • Empathetic with a passion for customer service.
  • Desire to learn new ways of improving workflow and efficiency.
  • Fast typing skills; knowledge of touch typing systems is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Comfortable dealing with vast volumes of complex data.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware, and peripheral devices.
  • Basic understanding of databases.
  • Good command of oral and written English.
