About the position

The Data Entry Clerk position at SEARHC is a vital role within our non-profit health consortium, dedicated to serving the health interests of the residents of Southeast Alaska. As a Data Entry Clerk, you will be responsible for managing and updating data entry in various systems, including e-CaST, Cerner, and Excel spreadsheets. Your role will involve gathering information from different departments to ensure accurate data entry and maintaining the integrity of our health records. You will work closely with the WISEWOMAN/Women's Health team and clinical partners to complete daily integration strategies, ensuring that program data is entered accurately and timely. This includes updating Cerner recommendations and creating precise spreadsheets that reflect program features and participant information. Communication is key in this role, as you will be teaching correct entry strategies to team members and collaborating with RN Case Managers and Health Educators to ensure that data is received promptly. In addition to data entry tasks, you will assist the Data and Evaluation Specialist with monthly reports, data error checks, and MDE submissions. Keeping the data entry manual up to date and managing the mobile mammogram schedule will also be part of your responsibilities. This may involve occasional travel to remote locations to support mobile clinics. Overall, this position requires a detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the health initiatives of SEARHC.

Responsibilities

  • Updates and manages data entry in the systems needed (e-CaST, Cerner, Excel Spread Sheets).
  • Gathers information from other departments for entry into our systems.
  • Completes daily integration strategies with the WISEWOMAN/Women's Health (WW/WH) team and clinical partners.
  • Enter program data in e-CaST, updating Cerner recommendations.
  • Creating accurate spreadsheets.
  • Communicates and teaches correct entry strategies to others on the team.
  • Work together with RN Case Managers and Health Educators to assure accurate and timely data is received.
  • Assists the Data and Evaluation Specialist on monthly reports, data error and quality check reports, MDE submission and e-CaST issues and updates.
  • Keep data entry manual up to date.
  • Keep up to date spreadsheets on program features.
  • Manage the mobile mammogram schedule and visit, including WISEWOMAN visits and Pap schedule.
  • Create grants insurance profiles in Revenue Cycle and process internal billing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license
  • Four years of responsible relevant data entry or related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, One-Drive and SharePoint
  • Advanced computer and computer application skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to travel infrequently to remote locations, including by small plane.
