About the position

The Data Entry Clerk position is a short-term contract role within the Energy/Natural Resources industry, based in Houston, Texas. The role involves processing contractual documents and performing system entry, making the clerk an integral part of the team responsible for ensuring that business needs are met and processes are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business lines to ensure processes are followed and needs are met.
  • Draft contracts and confirmations related to the business.
  • Set up contracts and related data in various systems.
  • Review and confirm marketing deals and third-party paperwork.
  • Utilize document retention systems for file management.
  • Communicate with business lines about contractual issues and deadlines.
  • Review filed tariffs to ensure contractual needs are met and enter pricing into systems.
  • Comply with SOX and other governmental requirements for the position.
  • Cross-train and provide backup for other team members.
  • Take on special projects as required and additional duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Possession of 1 or more years of experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Demonstrated ability in organizing files and maintaining data
  • Strong 10-key skills for data entry and calculations
  • Exceptional customer service skills to interact with clients and coworkers
  • Good typing speed to efficiently enter data
  • Experience in email correspondence for professional communication
  • Ability to perform calculations accurately for data entry tasks
  • Familiarity with scanning documents as part of the data entry process
  • Proven track record in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
