The Data Entry Clerk position at the County of Northumberland involves the critical task of accurately entering and verifying data on a production basis. The Data Entry Clerk will work under the supervision of the Data Entry Supervisor and is expected to demonstrate good judgment and initiative in their daily tasks. In this role, the Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for encoding information from multiple sources and ensuring the accuracy of the entered data. This includes selecting the correct program cards or cassettes for the operations to be performed and preparing new program cards or cassettes as needed. The clerk will also organize and arrange documents, reducing data to numeric or alphabetic codes according to established procedures. Operating peripheral equipment is also a key responsibility, ensuring that all data entry tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The position requires a strong ability to recognize errors and inconsistencies in the material being processed, as well as the capability to follow both oral and written directions. Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with coworkers is essential, as is the ability to adhere to established office routines. Good physical condition is also necessary to perform the duties associated with this role effectively.
