About the position

Spherion is seeking Data Entry Clerks for 2nd shift positions at a manufacturing facility in Burton, MI. As a Data Entry Clerk, you will be responsible for recording shipping and receiving information and performing hands-on inventory control tasks. Full training is provided, but experience with accurate data entry and working with MS Excel is preferred. Current vacancies are on 2nd shift, but openings do occur for 1st and 3rd shifts as well. Overtime is very normal, including on weekends. Candidates should apply if they are available to work more than one shift and have flexibility for overtime as well. This is a temp-hire opportunity once a reliable attendance record has been demonstrated as well as a positive work ethic. Data Entry Clerk candidates will be required to complete computer-based testing including Data Entry and MS Excel in order to be considered for this opportunity. Failure to complete the testing will result in disqualification of candidates.

Responsibilities

• Entering customer part numbers, supplier information, and other data into customer inventory management system with 100% accuracy.
• Performing data entry administrative functions in established computer programs.
• Processing shipping and receiving documents and inputting information from the bill of lading.
• Dispatching orders and providing tags for customer part selection.
• Processing claims for misdirected parts and using the customer system to update claim information.
• Conducting quality control checks for supplier compliance.

Requirements

• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Clerical or data entry experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in quality control.
• Experience with MS Excel.
