About the position

National Capital Flag Co, Inc. (NCF) is seeking a dedicated Data Entry Clerk to join our business development group. Established in 1962 and located in Alexandria, Virginia, NCF is renowned for having the largest selection of flags and banners in the country, with products ranging from miniature desktop models to large-scale flags. Our company not only resells major flag brands but also manufactures custom embroidered and appliqué flags and banners for various clients, including U.S. Government Agencies and the military. As a Data Entry Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting our efforts to enhance our business operations and vendor registrations. In this position, you will lead initiatives to complete applications for NCF to be certified as a minority-owned small business. You will also be responsible for creating accounts and filling out profiles to register NCF as an authorized vendor for Fortune 1000 companies, universities, non-profits, and other organizations. Your attention to detail will be essential as you verify data against source documents and assist our government sales team with the completion of forms for government bids. Additionally, you will respond to requests for additional data from potential customers and collaborate with team members to ensure data integrity and consistency. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the team and the organization’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts in filling out applications to get NCF certified as a minority owned small business.
  • Create accounts and fill out profiles to register NCF as an authorized vendor for Fortune 1000 companies, universities, non-profits, and non-government organizations.
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents.
  • Assist the government sales team with filling out forms for government bids.
  • Respond to requests for additional data from potential customers.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure data integrity and consistency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to self-manage to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in time management to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office for document management.
  • Proficiency in data entry tasks and comfortable with multitasking.
  • Extremely high attention to detail for accurate proofreading and editing.
  • Ability to follow explicit directions and perform routine activities.
  • Demonstrable excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in and drive team performance.
