About the position

Family Promise of Midland is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending homelessness one family at a time. We are seeking a part-time Data Entry Clerk to join our team in Midland, TX. The ideal candidate will work in a modern office setting and will be responsible for entering previous contact and guest information into the FAMCare program. This role requires coordination with the Administrative Assistant, Case Managers, and Executive Director to ensure the accuracy of data entered into our systems. The Data Entry Clerk will perform a variety of tasks including transcribing data from paper documents and digital files into our databases, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, and reviewing data for errors or discrepancies. The position also involves utilizing basic math skills to calculate and update data as needed, organizing files and documents systematically, and automating tasks using computer systems and software. Timeliness and efficiency in completing data entry tasks are crucial, as is adherence to established deadlines and standards. Additionally, the role includes various administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and handling mail and packages.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry tasks, including transcribing data from various sources into our databases.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring that all information is complete and precise.
  • Review and verify data for errors, discrepancies, or inconsistencies.
  • Utilize basic math skills to calculate and update data as needed.
  • Organize and manage files and documents in a logical manner.
  • Utilize computer systems and software to automate tasks, such as order entry and data processing.
  • Ensure that all data entry tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to established deadlines.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and handling mail and packages.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software, including database management systems.
  • Strong clerical skills, including data entry, file management, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately enter data.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in order entry and data entry is preferred.
