About the position

We are seeking a focused and technologically competent Data Entry Clerk for a short-term contract position in the construction industry. The role involves managing and entering data, handling customer inquiries, and maintaining organized files to support efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter customer orders into the system as part of our commitment to efficient data management.
  • Act as the first point of contact for clients, demonstrating excellent customer service skills in all interactions.
  • Organize files systematically to ensure easy access and retrieval of data.
  • Use knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word to perform calculations and manage data.
  • Keep up-to-date with all customer correspondence via email, ensuring all inquiries and issues are resolved promptly.
  • Use 10 key skills to process customer credit applications quickly and accurately.
  • Ensure all customer records are kept up-to-date and accurate, demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
  • Follow up with clients to obtain and confirm orders, ensuring all data entered into the system is correct.
  • Monitor customer accounts regularly, taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Perform order entry tasks as required, ensuring all data is entered accurately and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a data entry role within the construction or contractor industry
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Strong 10-key skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with email correspondence
  • Ability to organize files effectively
  • Capable of performing calculations accurately
  • Experience with order entry is a must
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high volume data entry tasks
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent education level is required
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
