About the position

Koniag Government Services is seeking a Data Entry Operator I to support its IT operations and services for government customers in Silver Spring, MD. This role involves accurately inputting and maintaining data in various computer systems and databases, ensuring data integrity and quality. The ideal candidate should possess strong data entry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Entering data from various sources into designated computer systems and databases with high accuracy.
• Verifying the completeness and accuracy of data entered by cross-checking with source materials and resolving discrepancies.
• Adhering to established data entry procedures and guidelines to ensure data quality.
• Maintaining organized records of data entry activities and generating reports as required.
• Assisting with clerical tasks such as filing, copying, and scanning documents related to data entry operations.
• Ensuring data security and confidentiality by following company policies and procedures.
• Providing support in data management and maintenance activities as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
• Excellent typing and data entry skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work under close supervision and follow specific procedures or detailed instructions.
• Familiarity with various computer systems, databases, and data entry software used in IT operations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain data confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's degree or related post-secondary education in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Experience with data entry in a government or military IT environment.
• Knowledge of relevant software applications, databases, and data management practices used in the IT industry.
