The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk is seeking dedicated and responsible individuals for the role of Data Entry / Processing Clerk. This position is crucial for assisting in the upcoming election, where clerical duties will be performed in the City of Industry. The role offers a pay rate of $17.83 per hour and is classified as a full-time temporary position. No prior training or experience is required, as full training will be provided to successful candidates. The work environment is fast-paced, and flexibility in scheduling is essential, including the possibility of working weekends and holidays. As a Data Entry / Processing Clerk, you will be responsible for reviewing incoming voter records, which include changes of address, language preferences, and age updates. You will update voter information in the election management system and reissue vote-by-mail packets. Additionally, you will receive, sort, and properly orient vote-by-mail envelopes, process returned envelopes through an automated signature verification system, and review voter signatures against those on file. Completing a manual tally of vote-by-mail ballots and ballots received from Ballot Marking Devices (BMD) is also part of your duties, along with remaking BMD and provisional ballots and conducting data entry tasks. Maintaining operations by adhering to policies and procedures and reporting any discrepancies is crucial to this role. Other clerical duties may be assigned as needed, and a professional and friendly attitude is expected. Candidates should have a history of good attendance and schedule adherence, and the ability to perform light typing at a minimum speed of 25 words per minute is required. Familiarity with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers is also necessary.
