About the position

The Data Entry Support role at the Office of Outdoor Recreation focuses on managing the Bureau's geographic information system (GIS) and supporting data-driven decision-making for the Bureau of Parks & Conservation. This position involves producing maps, contributing to GIS projects, and developing custom GIS tools and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage GIS feature data for the Bureau of Parks & Conservation in both geodatabase environments and cloud platforms.
  • Produce maps and other GIS deliverables as requested.
  • Support GIS projects, including developing custom GIS tools and conducting spatial analysis.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Esri software, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Strong ability to create, edit, manage, and publish GIS feature data.
  • Proficiency in cartographic design.
  • Working knowledge of geospatial analysis methods and ESRI GIS applications development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Avenza MAPublisher.
  • Knowledge of Arcade and/or JavaScript for GIS applications and API integration.
