About the position

This position is within the Office of Outdoor Recreation - Office of Strategy and Planning under the Bureau of Conservation, and reports to the GIS Manager. The mission of the GIS Program is to empower the Bureau of Parks & Conservation to make smart, data-driven decisions. An employee in this position is responsible for managing the Bureau of Parks & Conservation's geographic information system; producing maps and other deliverables as requested; and contributing to GIS projects including, but not limited to, building custom GIS tools and solutions, and applying spatial analysis.

• Apply spatial analysis.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Geography, Earth Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 2 years of relevant work experience in GIS.
• Proficiency with Esri software, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Proficiency in creating, editing, managing, and publishing GIS feature data, both in a geodatabase environment and on the cloud.
• Proficiency in cartographic design.
• Working knowledge of geospatial analysis methods and ESRI GIS applications development.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Avenza MAPublisher.
• Working knowledge of Arcade and/or JavaScript programming for GIS applications and API's integration.
