About the position
The Data/ETL Test Engineer at OpTech is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through rigorous testing processes. This role requires expertise in ETL testing, particularly with Informatica, and a strong understanding of big data technologies and cloud services, especially AWS. The engineer will work closely with development teams in an Agile environment to identify issues and implement effective solutions, while also mentoring junior testers and managing QA activities.
Responsibilities
- Understand functional requirements for Finance, Treasury, and other banking Regulatory Reporting Test Scenarios.
- Create use cases, user stories, and test scripts for functional requirements validations.
- Define testing phase entrance and exit criteria.
- Facilitate environment readiness validation (connectivity, test data, user access, etc.).
- Coordinate/oversee validation of end-to-end business and system processes.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute non-functional testing, system integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Communicate test plans, progress, issues, and risks to key project stakeholders.
- Conduct requirements traceability and gap analysis.
- Diagnose problems and report defects.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
- Implement regression test suites for ETL pipelines, enabling continuous integration and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and define test strategies.
- Mentor junior testers and guide teams in best practices for ETL testing.
Requirements
- ETL Testing experience
- Informatica IICS experience
- Experience in Finance/Treasury/Banking Regulatory Report Testing
- Proficiency in AWS
- Experience with Snowflake
- Experience creating automated test scripts from scratch
