About the position

The Data Fusion Engineer at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) will be responsible for defining and managing requirements for data fusion systems, ensuring that they meet the needs of various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and adhere to configuration control standards. This role involves interfacing with engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to derive lower-level requirements from top-level design references, as well as overseeing the integration and testing of data fusion systems on platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure requirements are complete and verification methods are satisfactory, maintaining proper documentation and system engineering practices.
  • Build and track progress of a Data Fusion Evaluation Tool for system comparisons and assessments, facilitating collaboration among SMEs.
  • Identify and correct metric deficiencies using the Data Fusion Evaluation Tool, assisting with follow-on contract actions.
  • Interface with vendors to determine engineering needs for integrating new data fusion systems, setting up engineering reviews, and managing schedules.
  • Oversee modification efforts by vendors, ensuring verification methods are met and assessing risks based on data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or a Business-related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least five years of Risk Management experience in a DoD Program Office.
  • Experience in leading requirements generation, with a background in software integration, data fusion algorithms, or signal processing.
  • Desired experience with Navy procurement processes and familiarity with NAWCAD and NAWCWD organizations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
  • Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in a dynamic, schedule-constrained, and complex security environment.
