About the position

At ABSG Consulting, we are seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst to join our Global Government division, headquartered in Washington, DC. This role is pivotal in providing clients with guidance in the development and implementation of data governance initiatives, which encompass data management, stewardship, inventory, and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members across multiple departments. In this position, you will assist clients in designing, developing, and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, processes, procedures, and standards. You will support the development of data governance practices and data cataloging to successfully maintain and support data standards, data quality, data policies, and reference data, leveraging best-in-class data management practices. Additionally, you will help clients develop and maintain data quality management processes, monitor and assess compliance with data governance policies, and document data governance metrics. Your role will also involve monitoring data quality and identifying and assessing data risk and control measures. This position is primarily sedentary, with some work performed in the field. The work is non-manual in nature, and you may be required to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The salary for this role ranges from $90,000 to $125,000, and while the ideal location is in the Washington, D.C. area, we are open to remote work options.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients to design, develop, and implement data governance frameworks, policies, processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Support development of data governance practices and data cataloging to maintain and support data standards, data quality, data policies, and reference data.
  • Assist clients to develop and maintain data quality management processes.
  • Monitor and assess compliance with data governance policies for clients.
  • Develop and document data governance metrics for clients.
  • Monitor data quality and identify data risk and control measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance and data management.
  • Experience supporting data governance, management, quality, and stewardship programs for government agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience working with data governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, Atacama, OvalEdge, etc.
