As a Data Governance Analyst, you will lead the execution of VyStar's data governance program including projects on policies, metadata, quality, and privacy. This role serves as the central component of the data governance operating model, ensuring effective contribution and communication from the Data Governance (DG) council, DG ambassadors, as well as data owners and data stewards. You will join the VySights group, and work alongside teams who are focused on delivery of world-class business intelligence and advanced analytics. Your essential responsibilities will include maintaining the vision, mission, strategy, roadmap, and training materials for the DG program to ensure materials are up to date on current Data Governance initiatives and will assist in onboarding individuals. You will administrate the primary data governance platform (data catalogue), ensuring all data is being loaded properly and that metadata rules and processes are enforced. You will extract metadata using SQL or other data management tools, gather concerns and issues from the business, and ensure they are factored into decision-making by the Data Governance Office to align business priority with Data Governance strategy. Facilitating DG Council meetings to enable decision-making, while maintaining agenda, minutes, and actions for visibility will also be part of your role. Additionally, you will gather metrics and reports on the progress of the Data Governance Program to measure its success, onboard new data owners and data stewards, and develop, implement, and execute processes for case management in Data Governance. This will streamline the support process and allow data stewards/owners to effectively learn from issues to establish preventative measures. You will assist in developing and implementing a strategy for Information Knowledge Management, which will include standards for the content of and roles and responsibilities for metadata. Establishing the communications program for Data Governance, developing materials, coordinating with internal communications, delivering material, and monitoring feedback to inform the organization of Data Governance initiatives will also be key responsibilities. Finally, you will work with the Learning and Development team on annual data governance training.
