About the position

Zions Bancorporation is seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Data Governance Analyst to assist with documentation, business requirements, and integration of Data Classification and Data Rights Initiatives. This role involves acting as a data governance liaison and subject matter expert, providing insights into business and operational concepts while working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. The analyst will analyze data segments, resolve issues, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet Data Governance objectives, ultimately driving improvements in data management and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze multiple data segments within the organization and establish knowledge centers around the data segments and their data classification.
  • Work with subject matter experts, end users, and others involved in the data supply chain to resolve issues and meet Data Governance objectives.
  • Partner with key stakeholders on initiatives, application development, and implementation activities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving sessions to structure and solve open-ended data-centric problems.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of processes related to data cataloguing and metadata.
  • Present trainings, recommendations, and strategies to division/department management.
  • Work closely with compliance and legal on new or changing data rights regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of directly related business line experience, developing and implementing strategic programs/projects.
  • Experience in financial institutions and banking is a plus.
  • Solid requirements gathering, refinement, and analysis skills.
  • Effective analysis, project management, problem resolution, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and set and reach departmental goals.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
