About the position

The Data Governance Analyst will implement and enhance the vision of data governance within the organization, focusing on improving data management practices. This role requires building strong relationships while being an expert in data governance tools and processes, ensuring data quality, security, and effective metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data governance related initiatives, particularly in Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Data Security.
• Provide consulting to information workers and decision makers on Data Quality, Data Security, and Metadata Management.
• Analyze business and data processes to identify areas for improvement and develop viable initiatives.
• Train users on the data catalog and governance tools.
• Identify and formalize data owners, stewards, and custodians within existing responsibilities.
• Assist users with data profiling, lineage maintenance, data quality rules, and impact analyses.
• Represent the Data Governance Office in meetings and communications, capturing the vision and details of the program.
• Develop training materials and resources for data governance activities.

Requirements

• A total of 8 years of education and experience in relevant fields.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field plus a Master's degree in a STEM field and 2 years of working experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 4 years of working experience, or 8 years of relevant working experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in data management activities such as Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Database Administration, Data Science, Master Data Management, Data Quality, and Data Privacy.
• Experience in information systems and technology, teaching, technical writing, or leadership roles that involve data.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data management tools such as Informatica, Collibra, Alation, IBM InfoSphere Data Governance, Talend, and others.
• Familiarity with ticketing and project management tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with database administration and development, data warehousing tools, and business intelligence tools.
