About the position

The Data Governance Analyst will support the governance and audit processes related to data usage across the company. This role involves collecting, validating, storing, and presenting metadata to enhance stakeholder knowledge about data and business operations. The ideal candidate should have experience in data-driven environments, particularly with cloud technologies, and possess a detail-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and enforcement of data governance and audit processes for data standards, access, and privacy policies.
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of metadata management and the data catalog.
• Support work product knowledge and business knowledge cataloging efforts for tools such as dashboards, reports, models, metrics, and data integrations.
• Collaborate on tools and processes to monitor the effectiveness of data governance programs and compliance.
• Support and educate data stakeholders on the Data Governance team's data literacy, knowledge, and tooling efforts.
• Collaborate closely with Data Quality and Data Governance Solutions teams.

Requirements

• BA/BS Degree; Technical degree preferred.
• 3+ years experience in a data-driven industry, preferably in media and entertainment and/or subscription services.
• 3+ years of demonstrated cross-functional coordination with IT and business stakeholders for complex data and/or software development lifecycle processes.
• Intermediate to strong SQL skills are required.
• Experience with data technologies, database systems, data integrations, and/or data warehousing is required.
• Ability to effectively communicate data issues and governance concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Data Catalog tooling, Data Quality software, and/or Data Visualization software is preferred.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Salesforce products (e.g. Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, Tableau), Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform), CI/CD, and related deployment technologies like Git/GitHub, and Python/Scala is a plus.
