About the position

Cognizant is seeking a Data Governance Analyst Consulting Manager to join our Retail, Consumer Products Consulting Practice group. This role is pivotal in delivering strategic consulting services that help clients navigate their most complex business and technology challenges. As a Consulting Manager, you will lead a team of consultants through client engagements, ensuring effective project execution and maintaining high standards of consulting excellence. You will be responsible for managing escalations, serving as the owner of a workstream, and contributing to the sales process through the development of proposals, financial modeling, and client presentations. Your expertise will be crucial in creating service offerings and training materials for client partners, as well as in mentoring and supporting the professional development of your team. In this position, you will implement data management standards, policies, and processes to enhance the quality and completeness of the organization's data. You will collaborate with various teams, including InfoSec, Enterprise Architecture, and Analytics Transformation, to promote key data governance deliverables such as data policies and standards. As the primary IT Data Steward, you will work closely with the Data Governance Program Manager to ensure the quality of master data and support the definition of data, ensuring it meets business rules and requirements. Your role will also involve identifying areas for data quality improvements and collaborating with business partners to document functional and nonfunctional requirements for new data cataloging initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Consult directly with clients and provide advisory services to solve complex business and technology challenges.
  • Manage and direct a small-to-medium team of Consultants through client engagement, analysis, and business case development.
  • Lead communications with project stakeholders, including status reporting, priority setting, and timely issue resolution.
  • Contribute to the thought leadership of your practice and participate in practice initiatives or service offerings.
  • Maintain expertise in the Retail, Consumer Goods, Travel, and Hospitality industries.
  • Encourage and facilitate business development activities through opportunity validation and client presentations.
  • Engage with client contacts to generate leads and identify new consulting opportunities.
  • Capture and promote engagement collateral and intellectual property such as blogs and case studies.
  • Support the implementation of practice initiatives or service offerings.
  • Serve as a people leader, supporting the professional development of the team.

Requirements

  • Implement data management standards, policies, and processes to enhance data quality and completeness.
  • Work with the enterprise architecture team to support the design and delivery of Data Governance solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams such as InfoSec and Internal Audit to promote data governance deliverables.
  • Leverage tools for data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Function as the primary IT Data Steward, supporting established policies for data quality.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to define and implement data strategy and policies.
  • Attend Data Governance meetings and understand complex business processes.
  • Identify areas for data quality improvements and provide requirements to relevant teams.
  • Work within Agile teams to design and support data cataloging solutions.
