About the position

The Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for cataloging and organizing agency data resources to create a public-facing agency-wide data catalog. This role involves assisting with the selection and implementation of processes for managing external data requests, supporting project timelines, and ensuring effective communication with agency staff to meet project goals and deadlines. The analyst will also work with large datasets to enhance accessibility and analysis through various data management systems.

Responsibilities

• Cataloging and organization of agency data resources to create a public-facing agency-wide data catalog.
• Assisting with the selection and implementation of processes for managing external requests for data and public records.
• Supporting the creation and implementation of project timelines.
• Maintaining consistent and effective communication with agency staff to support projects and meet deadlines.
• Collecting, organizing, and leveraging large amounts of data across multiple subject matters for accessible utilization and analysis.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe.
• Experience in utilizing Microsoft Purview to implement and manage data governance frameworks.
• 5 years of experience in data management.
• 5 years of experience with Microsoft Purview.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards governing the management of sensitive data (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, NIST Standards).
