About the position

The Data Governance and Controls Manager at EY will lead diverse teams to deliver data and analytics services within the financial services sector. This role focuses on defining data strategies, performing assessments, and designing future state data solutions. The manager will be responsible for solving complex issues, driving growth, and fostering an innovative and inclusive work environment while building strong client relationships and cultivating business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead diverse teams of professionals across different geographies to deliver data and analytics services.
  • Define data and analytics strategies and perform assessments.
  • Recommend remediation strategies/solutions based on identified gaps.
  • Design and implement future state data and analytics solutions.
  • Solve complex issues and drive growth across financial services.
  • Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in defining technical and business approaches.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and cultivate business opportunities.
  • Initiate and build thought leadership through white papers and proof of concepts.
  • Manage cross-functional teams to ensure project task and timeline accountability.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. engineering, computer science, business, economics, finance, statistics, and/or analytics).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in banking, capital markets, insurance or asset management in a Data Scientist or Business Intelligence role with at least 3 years of experience managing a team.
  • Superior communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Experience presenting analytical conclusions to senior officials and stakeholders.
  • Proven application of advanced analytical and statistical methods in the financial services space.
  • Practical experience in leading and managing teams through a product life cycle.
  • Experience with data management, architecture, analysis and visualization.
  • Practical experience using latest technologies for data ingestion, storage, mining/warehousing, big data analytics, manipulation, and visualization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior consulting experience.
  • Experience monitoring performance, reporting, and economics of ongoing progress for major initiatives.
