About the position

The Data Governance and Controls Manager at EY will lead diverse teams to deliver data and analytics services, focusing on defining strategies, performing assessments, and implementing solutions in the financial services sector. This role emphasizes innovative problem-solving and the management of complex data issues, while fostering an inclusive team environment and building strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead diverse teams of professionals across different geographies to deliver data and analytics services.
  • Define data and analytics strategies and perform assessments.
  • Recommend remediation strategies/solutions based on identified gaps.
  • Design and implement future state data and analytics solutions.
  • Solve complex issues and drive growth across financial services.
  • Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in defining technical and business approaches.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and cultivate business opportunities.
  • Initiate and build thought leadership through white papers and proof of concepts.
  • Manage project delivery and ensure accountability of cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. engineering, computer science, business, economics, finance, statistics, and/or analytics).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in banking, capital markets, insurance or asset management in a Data Scientist or Business Intelligence role.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a team.
  • Superior communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Experience presenting analytical conclusions to senior officials and stakeholders.
  • Proven application of advanced analytical and statistical methods in the financial services space.
  • Practical experience in leading and managing teams through a product life cycle.
  • Experience with data management, architecture, analysis, and visualization.
