About the position

The Data Governance and Management Intern will assist the Data, Analytics, Platform Services, and Intelligent Automation Team at Cox. This internship offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful projects related to data management, including metadata management, access management, data quality, and governance. Interns will collaborate closely with analysts, managers, and leaders to successfully complete various initiatives, gaining valuable experience and professional skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders and department analysts to understand and articulate data needs and requirements as part of larger IT initiatives.
• Document governance policies and management exceptions.
• Provide data management deliverables with oversight from the Data Governance Office.
• Support data management projects for the analytics team and management as needed.
• Learn ways to manage data in big data environments and implement new policies and procedures.
• Learn to write code (SQL, R, Python) to develop analyses in response to questions from internal customers.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, Data Science, or a related field with at least a 3.0 GPA.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to adapt to a changing environment and learn new technologies.
