About the position

The Data Governance Architect at Stride, Inc. serves as the primary liaison between business owners and data solutions, ensuring that data practices align with business needs. This role involves designing and leading data governance initiatives, promoting responsible data management, and facilitating communication across various teams to enhance data quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, refine, prioritize, and manage business and product data use-cases into an actionable backlog.
  • Drive data protection, traceability, and privacy compliance processes as the administrator of the OneTrust platform.
  • Define data quality rules and appropriate data uses for domain-based data modeling.
  • Coordinate and communicate data priorities and delivery to various audiences, aligning expectations and resolving conflicts.
  • Advocate for business data needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
  • Coordinate between data delivery teams to map business data needs to solutions and delivery.
  • Consult on product and platform development to provide actionable requirements for data governance standards.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of relevant professional experience working with data including analytics and BI, data modeling, data science, data architecture, or database management.
  • Experience designing and implementing technical data governance and management practices.
  • Experience working with various database types in cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Deep understanding of data governance and management practices.
  • Ability to develop relationships across functions and inspire trust through effective communication.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to target content to fit the audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business processes into clear data requirements.
  • Demonstrated project management planning and organization skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Library Science or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience working with data.
  • Experience in K-12 education as a teacher, researcher or data personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating end-to-end products to drive business outcomes.
