About the position

The Data Governance Architect serves as the primary liaison between business owners and data solutions, ensuring that data practices align with business needs. This role is pivotal in driving responsible and scalable data governance across various teams within Stride, focusing on data protection, compliance, and quality management.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, refine, prioritize, and manage business and product data use-cases into an actionable backlog.
  • Drive data protection, traceability, and privacy compliance processes as the administrator of the OneTrust platform.
  • Define data quality rules and appropriate data uses and protections for domain-based data modeling.
  • Coordinate and communicate data priorities, delivery, and value to various audiences, including executive leadership and product stakeholders.
  • Translate business data needs into actionable requirements and connect stakeholders to appropriate teams and solutions.
  • Consult on product and platform development to ensure compliance with data governance standards.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in data analytics, BI, data modeling, data science, data architecture, or database management.
  • Experience designing and implementing technical data governance practices, including metadata management and data quality.
  • Experience with various database types (relational, unstructured, graph) in cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Deep understanding of data governance practices, including data ownership and stewardship.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to tailor content for different audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex processes into clear data requirements.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in data-related fields.
  • Experience in K-12 education as a teacher, researcher, or data personnel.
  • Experience in creating end-to-end products to drive business outcomes.
