About the position

The Data Governance Architect serves as the primary liaison between business owners and data solutions, ensuring that data practices align with business needs. This role is pivotal in driving responsible and scalable data governance across Stride, coordinating efforts among various data teams to enhance data quality, compliance, and usability.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, refine, prioritize, and manage business and product data use-cases into an actionable backlog.
  • Drive data protection, traceability, and privacy compliance processes as the administrator of the OneTrust platform.
  • Define data quality rules and appropriate data uses for domain-based data modeling.
  • Coordinate and communicate data priorities and delivery to various audiences, aligning expectations and resolving conflicts.
  • Translate business data needs into actionable requirements and connect stakeholders to appropriate solutions.
  • Consult on product and platform development to ensure compliance with data governance standards.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in data analytics, data modeling, data science, data architecture, or database management.
  • Experience in designing and implementing technical data governance practices including metadata management and data quality.
  • Experience with various database types in cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Deep understanding of data governance practices including data lineage and data contracts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across functions.
  • Excellent presentation skills tailored to different audiences.
  • Ability to translate complex processes into clear data requirements.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in a related field such as Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in data-related roles.
  • Experience in K-12 education as a teacher or data personnel.
  • Experience in creating end-to-end products to drive business outcomes.
