The Data Governance Architect is a strategic role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the data architecture of an organization to support data governance goals. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that data assets are handled and protected effectively, guaranteeing that data is generally understandable, complete, and discoverable. The Data Governance body will coordinate with various stakeholders, including people, processes, and technologies, to achieve these objectives. In this role, data architects will translate business requirements into databases, data warehouses, and data streams. They will ensure that data is organized and structured in a way that promotes data quality, security, and accessibility, which are essential aspects of data governance. Responsibilities will include designing and implementing data architecture and data policies, defining and maintaining data lineage and data catalog, and ensuring data security and compliance. The Data Governance Architect will also select and implement data tools and technologies, collaborate on data strategy with data stewards, information architects, and IT leaders, and identify and address data issues. Additionally, they will lead or contribute to data-related projects and initiatives while staying up to date with emerging trends in data governance. This position is integral to the Information Technology group at KLA, which focuses on enhancing technology to empower employees and drive business growth.
