About the position

The Data Governance Associate at Kemper is responsible for supporting projects and operational initiatives through the use of various Data Governance tools. This role involves managing enterprise data, collaborating with business and technical staff, and ensuring data quality through established governance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manages Enterprise data with the use of data management tools (Informatica - Axon, EDC, IDQ /or MDM)
  • Collaborates with business and/or technical staff to help drive data cataloging processes
  • Conducts presentations on data meaning, purpose, physical location, lineage, and quality in response to stakeholder needs identified in project charters
  • Creates and maintains the documentation of policies and procedures related to data governance processes
  • Develops and enforces processes for continuous improvement of data quality (e.g. policies, standards, processes and procedures)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field
  • At least 3 years' experience of improving data by using Data Management and/or Data Governance strategies
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts
  • Proficiency in data management tools (Axon, EDC, IDQ)
