About the position

NTT DATA Services is seeking a Data Governance Consultant to join our team in Plano, Texas. This role is pivotal in establishing and maintaining a robust data governance framework that aligns with our clients' business objectives. The consultant will be responsible for documenting core data governance deliverables, including the operating model, organizational roles and responsibilities, policies, standards, use cases, and performance metrics. The consultant will also analyze the client's business processes and requirements to ensure that data governance effectively meets their needs. In this position, the consultant will work closely with client stakeholders to understand their data challenges and objectives. They will provide guidance and training on the data governance framework, ensuring that all documentation related to use cases, policies, processes, standards, and guidelines is created, consolidated, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle. The consultant will also participate in design reviews, providing a business or process perspective, and will be involved in the change control process throughout the project. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data governance frameworks and the ability to articulate roles, goals, and timelines clearly. They will proactively support project functions and be proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite. The role may require travel according to client demands, and the consultant will need to manage small projects, including status reporting, risk and issue management, and resource and budget management.

Responsibilities

  • Document core data governance framework deliverables including operating model, organization roles & responsibilities, policies, standards, use cases, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze business objectives to understand governance needs and determine how data governance can fulfill those needs.
  • Identify cross impacts to other systems, initiatives, and capabilities.
  • Propose solutions to problems considering timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality.
  • Articulate data governance framework roles, goals, and timelines clearly.
  • Work closely with client stakeholders to understand data challenges and provide guidance on the data governance framework.
  • Create, consolidate, and present documents relating to use cases, policies, processes, standards, and guidelines, maintaining them throughout the project.
  • Provide a business or process perspective during design reviews.
  • Participate in the change control process throughout the project.
  • Proactively carry out project support and administrative functions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience defining and implementing Data Governance Programs.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Data Governance Tools and Platforms (Informatica CDGC, Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience managing small projects including status reporting, risk & issue management, resource and budget management.
  • 3+ years of experience working with MDM tools.
  • 2+ years writing SQL scripts.
  • 2+ years of data analysis experience.
  • 1+ year of data mapping experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Consulting experience highly preferred.
  • Industry specific consulting experience (FSI, Manufacturing, Healthcare).
  • Experience working with all levels of client resources preferred.
  • Experience in systems implementation, business analysis, and/or project management.
