About the position

The Data Governance Director at JPMorgan Chase will play a pivotal role in the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), focusing on enhancing the quality, integrity, and security of the firm's data. This position involves building strong partnerships with senior leaders and managing responses to regulatory examinations and audits, ensuring compliance with data governance standards while leveraging data to drive insights and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination of responses to regulatory examinations and engagements.
  • Manage delivery of projects addressing regulatory matters.
  • Partner with Lines of Business and Corporate Functions for consistent regulatory responses.
  • Synthesize stakeholder feedback for clear and consistent engagement responses.
  • Proactively address questions by communicating with responsible stakeholders and drafting responses.
  • Articulate arguments supporting the Firmwide Chief Data Office's positions using objective evidence.
  • Communicate suggestions for evolving Chief Data Office activities and governing documents.
  • Create summarized materials for senior and executive presentations and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Risk, Business Operations, and Control organizations.
  • Stay informed of regulatory and industry developments impacting data governance and management.
  • Manage a team to support the volume and frequency of examinations.
  • Support other Firmwide Chief Data Office initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • 15 years' experience with a Bachelor's degree in data/risk management, business controls, or technology controls.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and structured frameworks to shape program approaches.
  • Knowledge of regulator's exam processes and regulatory matters.
  • Proven experience delivering data-related projects to meet business needs or address regulatory matters.
  • Strong understanding of control and risk management concepts.
  • Data governance subject matter expertise required.
  • Experience managing a team across various locations.
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred but not required.
