About the position

The Data Governance Engineer at Bose will oversee organization-wide data governance activities, focusing on the stewardship of sensitive data and information assets. This role involves establishing and adhering to an enterprise data governance framework, ensuring compliance and protection of data, and collaborating with various teams to enhance data consistency across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage organization-wide data governance activities.
• Assist the Data Governance Lead in developing and adhering to data governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with the Data Strategy team to ensure data consistency across the enterprise.
• Lead the resolution of data governance, compliance, and protection issues.
• Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology for data protection requirements.
• Develop and maintain an inventory of enterprise information maps, including systems, owners, and retention policies.
• Resolve issues escalated from Business and Functional areas regarding data governance.
• Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline expenses.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a major services organization with large-scale data oversight experience.
• Knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices.
• Understanding of data governance practices and related business and technology issues.
• Familiarity with government regulatory requirements and emerging trends.
• Knowledge of Cloud Technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Demonstrated consulting skills and change management concepts.
• Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Data Analytics/Informatics, or related fields.
